We have recently had Planning Approval for this extension to a farmhouse in a hamlet in Somerset.  The house had already been substantially extended in 2010 but this additional extension improves the internal circulation.  A new glazed extension provides a new entrance and staircase with an additional bedroom at first floor level. The additional bedroom stands over a paved entrance area which provides a covered external area to act as a generous porch. The language and materiality of the proposal is still very much in keeping with the rural context but the detail will be clearly legible as a distinct contemporary addition. 

Work is due to start on site early in 2024.
