Modern Glazed kitchen extension in Wiltshire

This kitchen extension to a Grade II Listed Farmhouse in Wiltshire takes a traditional farmhouse, with thick walls and small openings and transforms the way it can be used, much more in line with modern living expectations.  The glass walled extension replaces a 1990s “traditional” conservatory.  is a direct link between the house and the garden, with sliding glass walls which can be opened in the summer to fully connect the kitchen to the garden. It also links the two ground floor wings of the house together, which were previously quite remote from one another.

The kitchen furniture is placed so that when the glazing is opened the kitchen island is accessed from the garden side as well as from the kitchen

The family now enjoy spending most of their time in this space, with the more internal rooms within the farmhouse now being used as much more internal snug / sitting / study space, utility room and so forth.
