We have at last started construction on what is to be the new Designscape studio in central Bath.  The buildings date originally from the 1840s, but have been much altered over their lifetime. The B&NES Planning department has at long last acknowledged the extant planning consent from 1982 to extend the upper floor to a full storey height – its just so frustrating that it took them over six months to agree that the permission had been legally implemented and was therefore still extant. As a result we lost the amazing dry summer weather and so only just managed to take the roof off and start work just as the weather turned to autumn.   

Last used as a car repair workshop (The old “Midland Car Garage”) the two buildings will provide Designscape with a new studio, with the other half of the site offering about 150 sqm of open plan office / studio space becoming available for rent by the middle of 2026.
