National Wildflower Centre Liverpool

Our design for a new education and visitor centre at the National Wildflower Centre locates the buildings to the edges of the site allowing the wildflowers to remain at the heart of the historic walled garden. A new accessible, multi-level educational visitor trail starts in the new central hub building containing flexible exhibition, conference and educational spaces and extends into the landscape. The route follows the cycle of wildflower production from seed to flower and offers the opportunity to observe the operational processes from above and engage with the well established meadows. Energy is generated from the site via pv solar panels, ground source heat pumps and wind turbines.
