Urban Streetscape 

In response to the Bath Streetscapes Initiatives launched by the Bath and North East Somerset Council, Designscape have designed a series of street installations in a number of key locations in the city. We identified the pressing need to fill a gap in the retailing food chain, offering small, independent and start-up businesses the opportunity to have presence in the prime streets in the city at affordable rates. These could also be combined with other uses including bus shelters and bike hire spots. This not only offers opportunity in a crucial part of the local economy, but it also brings diversity and interest or "life" to the streets, preventing a total corporate takeover of the public realm.
